a few ads for Lucky Strike Cigarettes...from the 1920's.....touting the 'modern science' that 'has removed the harmful irritants which were present in cigarettes manufactured in the 'old-fashioned' way".....more bold-faced and outright lies...that covered billboards, entire magazine pages, radio and tv ads, later.....My 'parallel' is....well, just about any and everything marketed to consumers by Big Business......or....by Politicians.....who are no more your 'friends' than the products that are marketed to you.......Its ALWAYS about the money, isn't it? Nicotine relaxes one...just like caffeine, sugar, heroin and morphine....right? Smoke a couple of packs a day...for the constant 'pauses that refresh you'........But, what a hypocrite I am......having another cup of coffee...for it's 'bold flavor that starts up the day'....yeah! sure!
