Going through a 1911 First Edition of a Boston High School 'English' Book.....that discusses 'Correctness', choice of Words and Figures of Speech, Expository Argument,Grammar and Rhetoric.....I decided to 'check out' a current 'English Usage" book now utilized in American Public High Schools.......I noticed that there was about NO advanced language mechanics mentioned in the current textbooks.....no mention of interrogative pronouns, ambivalent references to the usage of indefinite pronouns or the declension of relative pronouns.......Even our President Drumph has the language skills of a 7 year old Edwardian Era English Student......which has lowered the bar for both spoken and written language to the 'life to get under it' level.....
