I've never quite comprehended the frenzied and hysterical, guilt-absorbed holiday, when selfish youths obsess on what they want to be "given" while remaining relatively abstemious in regard to the emotional needs of others........People wondering about how cheaply they can get out of it. Isn't it supposed to be about generosity of spirit.....about the demonstration of respect for others whom one holds in high esteem.......about sharing peaceful, loving time with those that we cherish......a gentle time.....that's been relatively lost in Santa's Ho..Ho...Ho's...... For Christ's sake.....it is about others......isn't it? take all the crap that's laying around and give it to those who not only have very little, but who may actually need it......the old heater, unused in the basement, a useful pair of warm shoes and socks....to a family, hungry and shivering......the aged are frequently lonely and despairing.......we all want to be "happy" and "merry"....but beneath the veils of false charitableness and hysterical festivity....we are all longing for some old-fashioned love and emotional complacency......Forget those cha-cha heels!
