According to the United States Postal Service (USPS), mail carriers are NOT required to close the door on your mailbox after delivering your mail.] However, it is considered a good practice for carriers to do so as it helps to keep your mail secure. This afternoon, I noticed that almost all the mailboxes near the curb of my street were left 'open' by the mail-delivery-person......so that the contents, including packages were in clear sight of passerbys, who could...easily enough....reach in and grab the packages as they drove by........A bit annoying, isn't that!.....How much effort does it take to close the mailboxes' doors, after depositing Mail?
