ACTING OUT RAGE....KILL EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!

In America, one can be a conscientious objector......If no one will fight, persisting in peaceful, consciousness-expanding dialogue, there will be far less conflict, and...inevitably....less rationalization for war and bloodshed.......Yet, our culture continues to glorify gore, horror, murder and licentiousness.....Actually, more humans are murdered on television, in video games and movies than in the "real" world......so it is apparent that we humans need, in this era, alas, at least to vicariously murder and maim, extract vengeance, piss higher and feel that we are justified in doing so.....young soldiers are brainwashed to depersonalize the "enemy" and transfer their own suppressed anger and hate into a big shoot-em-up video game extravaganza.....and tens of millions of virtual "enemies" are destroyed every day! Lots of murder and mayhem games.... but I could not find a "build a beautiful dream city where Love is supreme" game anywhere.......there are , however, hundreds of games in which the player's goal is to destroy cities, even entire planets, solar systems and galaxies, murdering and even raping the resistant inhabitants. Redneck survivalists have, almost without exception, huge stores of firearms and artillery, stockpiled for an event for which the asses need to "protect" the "people" from "our"enemies. My grandmother taught her children and grandchildren to make flower arrangements, play musical instruments, draw and paint, create just about anything from modelling clay, play dress-up (and I do not mean "military uniforms"), cook and keep an aesthetic home.......When I was a child, I thought this way of living was the "American Way".... I have discovered, subsequently, that it is not! Anyone for a walk by the pond, this lovely afternoon....the birds are joyful and the air is full of the perfumes of flowers....this seems like more fun than the sowing of dragon's teeth in the barren killing fields, while listening to death-metal music, doesn't it?

I was asked recently...."Have you 'played' FORGE OF EMPIRES or other 'creative' online games?"......Of course not.....unless the game could be "REDECORATE WINDSOR PALACE", "SYMPHONY-MAKER" or "WRITE A NOVEL WITH ONLINE WRITERS"...........I checked out the FOE site, anyway.....and halted, immediately, upon reading this: "Discover and conquer new territories!"

"Use your army strategically to fight exciting battles and gain control of new provinces. On the battle field you can either take on the computer or give other players a lesson in battle strategy. Recruit and develop a powerful army to steer the fate of your empire!

Your army is not strong enough or you do not want to fight? Each sector can be traded for different goods that you can produce in your goods buildings.

Once a whole province is in your possession, you can send out your scout to discover new territories."

PLAY? I think gamers have either mistaken what "play" is about.....opting for just more repetitiously violent and aggressive outlets, rather than experiencing mutually beneficial, creative interactions with other gentle humans. We are a reactive species, like other predators, regrettably.........."PICTIONARY", anyone? how about "GROUP THERAPY"?
