Of course, one can be passively indifferent to both......in the American Fashion.......watching the news as a stream of entertaining episodes for forgetful and brief attention spans......

Gasp as firemen look on helplessly as homes are engulfed in flames!

After playing, then deleting the DVR recording of AGT,  the TV reverted to Anderson Cooper 360......where I entered a news stream about mid-westerners who had rushed from their homes as the forest fires quickly advanced to to incinerate all that they had.......Somehow, my attention to radical protestors in Russia was riveted to considerations not so much about civil liberty as much as the foibles of chance and the existential realities of Life......Should one send bucks to keep the Pussy Rioters from serving a few years in Russian Prisons for civil disobedience or to those who passively suffer from the randomness of Chance?
