Alain Goldberg responded that Weir's graceful mannerisms take the muscle out of male figure skating and damage the sport.

"They'll think all the boys who skate will end up like him," he said. "It sets a bad example."

The men suggested that Weir, a three-time U.S. national figure skating champ, should take a gender test — and that he should skate against women.

"It wasn't these two men criticizing my skating, it was them criticizing me as a person," Weir said. "Nobody knows me. I think masculinity is what you believe it to be."

I say, "who cares whether Johnny is butch or fem!.....how long will it take to abandon the stereotypes that have only served to cripple the expression of art and culture ?" Give me a break!
