JOSEPHINE IN HONG KONG

Last month, Sotheby's achieved the world record price per carat for any gemstone sold at auction when a rare fancy vivid blue, internally flawless 7.03 carat diamond, now named 'Star of Josephine,' was sold in Geneva for $9.48 million, or $1,349,752 per carat. The 58 year old top bidder had also shelled out $39.2 million for Paul Gauguin's Te Poipoi, a painting of a Tahitian scene, at an earlier auction....He can fly home with his treasures in his Boeing 787 Dreamliner...it's only passenger, to hang his new painting on the walls of his Hong Kong home......such a deal....such a deal.......I wonder how much the buyer would have put up to feed the starving and homeless of his country?
