Verbiage like "Kind of, eh, you know...well, uh.." and other clichéd pleonasmic fodder, takes up 15%....perhaps, even more..... of 'what people say'...... This thoughtless expression indicates that the speaker is not prepared to intelligently speak, with much forethought or prior considerations........Inane word strings such as this have become 'off' switches to my brain....signaling that the speaker will just bore the crap out of me......In the US, there are few English teachers who really know basic grammar, let alone how to teach it. And in the 70s, "someone"....likely, a Republican politician..... decided that knowing grammar didn’t really serve any purpose, even in the teaching of writing.....as well as 'sentence diagramming'.....where, in a 'sentence diagram' does one 'put' ....."Kind of, eh, you know....well, uh.."?
