Under Iran's strict interpretation of Islamic law, sex before marriage is punishable by 100 lashes and married [even widowed(!)] offenders are sentenced to death by stoning. Stones used must be large enough to cause the condemned pain and great suffering but not sufficiently large enough to kill the victim immediately. Sakineh, whose 'confession" was made under threats of torture, was already a widow when she had relations with other men! It's time to abandon Religious Law!
